Source: Lennox International Inc.Lennox introduced the new Merit ML14XP1 and Elite EL15XP1 high-efficiency single stage heat pumps featuring their proprietary Quantum Coil technology. The technology reportedly extends life expectancy, increases efficiency and facilitates transport and handling as it is based on Lennox’s specialized aluminum alloy.

The proprietary aluminum alloy coil provides for improved corrosion resistance. It is engineered to reduce the chance of corrosion due to moisture, oxidation, volatile organic compounds or salt in indoor or outdoor environments.

The aluminum construction is also considerably lighter than copper coil construction. Each unit weighs up to 50 lbs. less than conventional units, which provides for reduced shipping and handling costs.

The ML14XP1 heat pump has a seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) rating up to 14.0 and a heating seasonal performance factor (HSPF) energy efficiency rating up to 9.0. The unit is Energy Star certified, has a sound rating of just 76 dB and features a PermaGuard cabinet that works to extend the life of outdoor heat pumps, keeping customers cool all summer long year after year.

The Elite EL15XP1 heat pump has a SEER rating up to 16.0 and an HSPF energy efficiency rating up to 9.0. The unit is Energy Star certified, has a sound rating of just 71 dB, features a PermaGuard cabinet and a SmartHinge Louver design.

Each unit is also dual fuel compatible. They are equipped to handle gas and electric power to help maximize economic efficiency based on seasonal demands and fuel prices.
