The current can be adjusted between 1 and 2 milliamperes for treatments of 10 to 40 min, depending on the drug to be delivered. The device constantly monitors and displays the electric current supplied. In addition, the IontoDC displays the resistance of the body between the electrodes, which indicates how well the skin is in contact with the cathode and anode.

As the device is activated, it ramps up the current gently over the first thirty seconds of treatment and does the opposite at the end of the session. It includes current and resistance meters, automatic ramp up and down and comes with an anode and cathode cable.
