ROSS Controls announces new hydraulic lockout valves
GlobalSpec News Desk | March 20, 2026ROSS Controls introduces its new H L-O-X series Hydraulic Lockout Valve for machine guarding applications.
The safety function of the new ROSS Hydraulic Lockout Valve is to block the flow of hydraulic fluid in order stop cylinder motions.
Energy isolation is required for all energy sources when performing any maintenance related tasks on
Source: ROSS Controls machinery. Hydraulic energy isolation requires both pump flow and downstream pressure to bleed to tank. The H L-O-X valve accomplishes this safely through its own independent, full-flow exhaust lines. This is achieved using a manually operated handle that has the capability to accept a lock or hasp to prevent the reapplication of pressure buildup. The valve is tamper-resistant to ensure that the locking out of the hydraulic system cannot easily be bypassed.
H L-O-X valves have a pressure rating of 6,000 psi (414 bar) and are available in three port sizes: 1/2-inch, 3/4-inch and 1-1/4-inches with flow rates of 20, 35 and 50 GPM, respectively. Each valve is made of carbon steel and includes Delrin and nitrile rubber (Buna-N) seals. A pressure measuring device is also included to confirm the removal of downstream pressure. These are the latest addition to the ROSS Hydraulic Safety Valve product offering, which also includes block and bleed valve systems and block and stop valve systems.
