McWane Plant and Industrial (MPI), a manufacturer of high-quality industrial flow control solutions, has announced the launch of its American Water Works Association (AWWA) C508 Swing Check Valve. This latest addition to MPI’s extensive valve lineup was designed to deliver exceptional performance and worry-free operation for water and wastewater applications, including pump isolation. Engineered for strength and durability, the standard AWWA C508 Swing Check Valve offering features an ASTM A536 ductile iron body plus 316 SS external hardware and a stainless-steel hinge pin as standard (316 SS for sizes 3 inches to 12 inches, 630 SS for sizes 14 inches to 36 inches) for enhanced strength and corrosion resistance. The MPI AWWA Swing Check Valve is also configurable with lever and weight or lever and spring in single or dual arrangements for accelerated valve closure.

Additional features include:

  • ANSI B16.1 class 125 flange connections
  • AWWA C508 Type B body laying length
  • Full-flow waterway
  • Self-aligning disc (BUNA or bronze facing)
  • NSF-61-approved fusion bonded epoxy coating.

Although swing check valves require minimal maintenance, a full-port cover opening allows for inspection or replacement of internal components with the valve remaining in line. With a large manufacturing base, including many factories throughout the U.S., MPI AWWA C508 Swing Check Valves can be made in the U.S. to meet AIS or BABA project funding requirements, when specified.

Like all MPI valves, this AWWA C508 Swing Check Valve has been rigorously tested to meet industry performance requirements, is constructed of high-grade materials and is engineered to provide years of trouble-free performance.
