The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation (SRTI) Park is hosting the first three-day International Food Technology Exhibition that began March 21, 2022, bringing together 60 specialized enterprises, as well as professionals and chefs from around the world. The region's first event of its kind will focus on food innovations as well as emphasizing Sharjah's position as an ideal location for food technology investments.J.K. Following the opening ceremony, guests of honor and officials visited the various stalls, followed by B2B meetings. Two workshops on “Quality Assurance, Food Safety & Hygiene” and “Good Storage Practices & Supply Chain” were held in the afternoon. The day ended with the debut of “Cooking Fiesta,” which featured events such as the Chef Battle Championship and a cooking competition.

On the second day, the itinerary included two seminars by the Dubai Youth Council on organic food and entrepreneurship as well as a Master Chef Cooking Competition and the Cooking Fiesta. The same programs returned on day three, as well as business meetings and trips to SRTI Park.

Food logistics from warehousing to global destinations

The goal of the exhibition, according to Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, is to promote all research and innovations in advanced technology for food with an emphasis on safety and self-sufficiency for members of society, especially in emergencies and crises, as part of the national food security strategy. One of the primary pillars of the UAE agenda aimed at finding answers to agriculture and food production concerns is the development of food and agricultural systems using contemporary technologies.

The exhibition also addresses the growing significance of e-commerce in the food industry, resource sustainability, and meeting the rising demand for healthier goods. The international exhibition will also cover a variety of current issues such as modern technology, enhancing food systems, diversity and sustainability in order to help the sector have a brighter future.
