Pump flow curves are a graphical representation of a pump’s expected performance. They are designed to help R&D, engineers and product developers select the right pump for a given application. Therefore, interpreting pump curves correctly is crucial. This 5-minute, easy-to-follow video reviews the creation and use of diaphragm pump performance curves to determine flow at given vacuum or pressure conditions, along with a lesser-known hack to interpolate pump performance when there are flow restrictions on both the inlet and outlet sides of the pump. Actual pump set-ups are run to demonstrate each point.
