Recom has launched a range of potted 3 W DC/DC converters in SIP8 format and pin-out. The parts maintain no derating to 70° C and feature 2:1 input ranges of 4.5 V to 9 V, 9 V to 18 V, 18 V to 36 V and 36 V to 72 V.

Fully regulated outputs available are 3.3 V, 5 V, 9 V, 12 V, 15 V and 24 V. Isolation is 3 kV (one minute) and the Source: Recomparts hold IEC/UL/CSA 62368-1 safety certification up to 5,000 m altitude while meeting EN 55032/FCC class B and EN 55035 EMI standards. The RS3E family features short circuit protection, high mean time between failures of 1.8 million hours and a control input to place the converters in a low-power shutdown mode.

Peak efficiency is in the range of 74% to 81% depending on version, with an industrial operating temperature range of -40° C to 70° C.
