The heavy-duty pump from Danish pump manufacturer DESMI promises superior performance for a wide range of viscous liquids and difficult applications. The unique design of the internal gear provides favorable flow conditions and superior self-priming capability for gentle liquid handling.

The Rotan HD comes in a simple but sturdy cast iron construction with only two rotating parts and one shaft seal. With its genuine back pull-out design, the pump allows for easy maintenance and inspection/repair of the rotating cartridge without disturbing the piping or coupling alignment. The Rotan HD has low NPSH requirements and comes with an internal self-draining safety relief valve. The pump is particularly suited for pumping difficult liquids such as oils, asphalt, paint, bitumen, polyester and much more.

With a flow capacity of up to 250 m3/hr (1100 US gpm), the Rotan HD can provide a differential pressure of up to 16 bar (232 psi). It can handle fluid viscosities up to 250,000 cSt and temperatures up to 250° C (482° F). The Rotan HD can also be supplied in accordance with ATEX Directive for use in potentially explosive environments.

DESMI also offers a wide range of pumps in the Rotan range to suit any pumping application. The Rotan Petrochemical Duty (PD) Pump is designed for refinery and petrochemical applications with all pressure-containing components set in carbon steel. The Rotan Chemical Duty (CD) Pump with stainless steel construction is particularly designed to handle corrosive liquids.

The Rotan Environmental Duty (ED) Pump is a magnetically coupled pump providing superior protection against leakage. The Rotan ED is an economical option for applications where no liquid or gas leakage can be tolerated. With a range of design options available, the Rotan ED offers excellent performance under severe operating conditions including high pressures, high viscosities, high temperatures, corrosive fluids and high flow applications.
