Tech giant LG Electronics has developed an air purifying face mask for the coronavirus era.

The PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier from South Korea-based LG Electronics promises to deliver clean air to the wearer and simultaneously ease the wearer’s breathing.

The new mask features two medical grade H13 high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters, multi-speed fans, an ultraviolet (UV) LED sterilizing case and a patented respiratory sensor.

The patented respiratory sensor serves to monitor the wearer’s breathing, adjusting the fan speeds to ease breathing, and each of the mask’s components are both reusable and recyclable, according to its developers.

Additionally, the mask can operate for eight hours via the 820 mAH battery and recharge while not in use. Likewise, the mask can be placed in its accompanying UV LED sterilizing case for sanitizing between uses.

The PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier mask is expected to be available later in 2020.
