JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. says that its U.S. unit has signed a master solar module supply agreement with an unnamed company.
Under the agreement, Jinko U.S. will provide around 1.75 gigawatts of solar modules over approximately three years.
The Singapore-based company’s Board of Directors also authorized JinkoSolar to finalize plans for the construction of a solar manufacturing facility in the U.S. The company says it "continues to closely monitor treatment of imports of solar cells and modules under the U.S. trade laws."
President Trump imposed tariffs on imported solar panel components on Jan. 22. A 30 percent tariff will be imposed on solar panel components, with the rate declining over four years.
