A new trend is overtaking higher education in the United States. Overall, higher education enrollment fell by 2 percent from 2012 to 2014, while distance education enrollments grew by 7 percent for those taking at least one course. Course Offerings

Classroom, in-house and online courses are offered on international specifications for the corrosion control industry. Some are more knowledge-based, while others teach skills that can be used directly in the field (i.e., cathodic protection testing or coating inspection). In 2014, over 16,000 students from 36 countries were trained through 829 courses offered by NACE.

Courses and certifications cover a range of topics, including coatings, cathodic protection, general corrosion and pipeline corrosion.

NACE’s Basic Corrosion eCourse is the most popular online training course, while the Coating Inspector Program courses are the most widely attended classroom/instructor-led trainings and serves as the world's most recognized coating inspector certification program.

NACE’s eCourses are available worldwide, with in-classroom training conducted at NACE facilities in Houston, Texas—the first U.S. training center dedicated to corrosion education—and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as well as 34 other countries, enabling attendees to earn certificates of completion. By taking a NACE eCourse, students can learn on their own time and at their own pace from work, home or on the road.

Online courses are presented in English, while in-house training is conducted in Japanese, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Korean and other languages.

Classroom training courses are open to the general public and are held in multiple languages as well. These courses are conducted at one of two NACE training centers or in contracted meeting space facilities.

In-house training is available for companies looking to bring NACE professional training to their facility. These courses can be held in multiple languages and are generally hosted at the sponsoring company’s facility.

Certifications
