Brightpick unleashes supertall warehouse robot with a 20-ft reach
GlobalSpec News Desk | February 14, 2025Brightpick, a provider of warehouse automation solutions for order fulfillment, has introduced its Brightpick Giraffe, a robot capable of reaching heights up to 20 ft.
According to its developers, the robot enables users to achieve up to three times the storage density of manual operations and double the density compared to previous Brightpick solutions.

The Brightpick Giraffe is designed to work alongside Brightpick Autopicker robots for automated order picking. It retrieves storage totes from upper level shelves and delivers them to lower levels, where an Autopicker can access them for picking (up to a height of 11 ft). Once the pick is completed, Giraffe returns the product tote to its original upper-level storage location.
This system maximizes both storage density and throughput by placing slower-moving items on upper levels that are accessible to Giraffes and fast-moving products within easy reach of Autopickers on lower levels. In a typical setup, one Giraffe supports five Autopickers, optimizing cost, density and performance. Additionally, Giraffes can handle inventory replenishment and order picking using Goods-to-Person stations.
The Brightpick Giraffe features a telescopic lift that retracts during travel, reducing its height to a compact 8.5 ft. This design ensures easy deployment, as each robot arrives pre-assembled, allowing customers to integrate Giraffes into their fleet with minimal installation time and effort.
