AZCO Corp.’s latest valve applicator machine is designed to apply ValvPak valve technology to pouches, offering a more sustainable and efficient liquid packaging solution than traditional rigid fitments. Requiring only air and power to operate, this plug-and-play machine can be easily integrated into existing lines and keeps up with typical pouch machine speeds of over 80 units per minute.

ValvPak is a patented, self-contained and flexible valve system that seals into the top of pouches andSource: AZCO Corp.Source: AZCO Corp. controls the liquid dispensing for a wide range of viscosities — from water to toothpaste. It reduces materials and cost compared to traditional liquid packaging solutions that rely on fitments or straws.

AZCO designed a modular, free-standing machine that applies ValvPak to pouches, enabling more manufacturers to take advantage of this sustainable valve system. The machine includes unwind, feeder, indexing and heat seal stations, all of which are mounted on an easy-to-install equipment frame. Using an optical sensor, the machine picks up the mark on the film, then registers, indexes and heat seals the valve to the film. Pouches come off the machine ready to be filled.

“We’re happy to promote this sustainable, low-cost and efficient alternative to pouches that would otherwise require fitments,” said Andy Zucaro, founder and president of AZCO Corp. “The environmental benefits of ValvPak are clear, and I’m excited that our applicator machine will bring this technology to even more manufacturing operations.”
