India-based AV Automation, an industrial automation solutions provider, has launched its high-capacity pick-and-place robot.

Making its debut at the 10th India International Trade Fair and MSME Expo held at Pragati Maidan from August 22 to August 24, the robot is designed to handle boxes weighing between 7 kg and 1,000 kg. This makes it appropriate for industries requiring heavy lifting capabilities.

“Through the industrial camera installed in it, the robot first examines the box to ensure it is properly assembled,” the robot’s developers explained. “It then smoothly picks the object from one place and places it at the designated location. The robot can handle a wide range of weights, from 7 kg to 1,000 kg.”

AV Automation — which primarily serves clients in the automotive, pharmaceutical, packaging, food and beverage sectors — explained that while the robots are imported from the Japanese company Nachi, the integrated parts are manufactured in India, making it a so-called “mixed solution.”
