U.K.-based Magnet Schultz, a manufacturer of electromagnetic devices, has unveiled its first EN9100-certified hydrogen power product: a solenoid valve for hydrogen gas flow control in aerospace applications.

According to its developers, the high-tech proportional solenoid valve complies with EN9100, which adheres to quality management standards set by the International Standards Organization (ISO 9001).

Reportedly one of the first of its kind, the hydrogen gas flow regulator valve is supported by three compact valves in the Magnet Schultz hydrogen and pressurized gas product family.

"Two of these valves are deployed in a confidential new engineering project for a pure aeronautical application focused on domestic flights," the company said. "One provides a vital safety shut-off function and the other controls water discharge and the recirculation of unspent hydrogen."
