QED Environmental Systems Inc., a Michigan-based manufacturer of environmental products, has launched its Xact Count pneumatic pump cycle counter, which monitors pump performance and maintenance cycles while determining the volume of liquid being pumped.

The company explained that the cycle counter monitors water discharge instead of airflow, thereby ensuring that pumps are operating accurately.

The Xact Count, which is designed for AP4 landfill remediation pumps, is also capable of monitoring flow on different applications. Additionally, the Xact Count requires no external power source and features a valve housing, a magnetically integrated poppet and a digital display.

Further, the Xact Count addresses issues in operating landfill remediation pumps by monitoring the water discharge flow rather than pneumatic airflow. The liquid pulse detecting unit is located inline between a pump and its discharge reservoir and a digital readout that displays the number of times a pump cycles.

Meanwhile, the seat, poppet and wetted components are composed of stainless steel. The company added that by eliminating the need for an airline counter, the valve internals have been created for maximum debris to pass and minimal fluid distribution while the cycle counter functions as a discharge check valve, while also assisting in leak back prevention.
