CAS DataLoggers has announced the updated TR32B log-EZ as a solution for temperature and humidity measurement.

The log-EZ is a compact, user-friendly data logger to easily measure and record ambient temperature and humidity. It provides Bluetooth communication and a smartphone/tablet app that can display and upload data to the cloud. The TR32B provides a measurement range of 0° C to 50° C (32° F to 122° F) and 10% to 90% RH respectively. The logger features an LCD for display of its current readings and support for the free, cloud-based T&D WebStorage Service.

The recorder's design enables its use in a variety of applications in both homes and office buildings. The unit supports wireless communication using Bluetooth 4.2 (Bluetooth low energy) via the T&D Thermo app available for iOS and Android devices. From there, the Thermo app allows data to be uploaded to the cloud where it can be viewed anytime, anywhere a standard web browser is available. Data can also be downloaded to a PC for long-term archiving or more in-depth analysis.

Further, the logger's wireless communication makes data transmission quick and simple without the need for cables or for gathering the log-EZ units to collect their data. They're also low-maintenance, requiring just one AA alkaline battery that powers the logger for up to one year. The TR32B offers 15 user-selectable recording intervals from once a second to once an hour. Internal memory stores 8,000 data sets or almost a year at the one-hour recording interval.

Its developers suggest that the data logger is ideal for monitoring heating and cooling in both residential and business applications such as occupant comfort studies. The TR32B log-EZ is also useful in providing information on managing temperature and humidity in more specific areas such as wine production and perishable goods storage.
