Watch: More mechanical complexities in the LEGO medium
Kevin J. Harrigan | December 28, 2022The creator behind the redshoebox YouTube channel is back at it again. Whomever runs this account, has a very creative mind and is clearly an expert in motion control systems.
Case in point, their latest YouTube video offers terrific, simplified versions of real world electric and pneumatic motion control systems and linkages.
As usual, some of the principles depicted are extremely rare or niche, such as a Geneva drive, which was once common in film and image projectors.
No matter the complexity or ubiquity, redshoebox aims to turn it into something understandable and even reproducible for LEGO fans. The account owner of reshoebox typically offers plans for featured models if requested.
This doesn't even resemble LEGOS anymore except for the board that it's mounted on.
I'm sure that someone will come up with a computer controlled Erector Set before long.
