A satellite and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered platform designed to help companies measure, report and address sustainability metrics for biodiversity, greenhouse gas emissions and other sustainability issues was unveiled at the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.

The Intelligent Sustainability Management System (ISMS), which was developed by California startup AiDash, is Source: AiDashSource: AiDashoffered as a software as a service program that automates land mapping, measures baseline biodiversity and compiles emissions data via satellite mapping and self-learning AI models.

A land module in the ISMS reduces time-consuming fieldwork for users through the AI-backed image analysis for systematic mapping, planning and assessing land enhancements. Quantification of data is also streamlined to more accurately plan sustainable land development and restoration initiatives based on the environmental value of varying habitats. Greenhouse gas emissions are measured across sources such as oil well pads and gas pipelines through an air module.
