German centrifugal pump specialist, EDUR, continues to impress with its versatile series of refrigerant pumps. The NMB, LBM and NHM have been designed to provide the highest level of safe, reliable handling of natural and synthetic refrigerants across a wide range of applications.

EDUR refrigerant pumps feature hermetically sealed magnetic couplings to ensure that no heat transfer occurs into the process medium. The spatial separation between the motor and pump also avoids any heat transfer. Pump design incorporates open impellers without axial thrust or closed balanced impellers. Compensation of radial forces is facilitated through diffuser devices within the specially designed circular diffuser casing.

EDUR refrigerant pumps require very low NPSH values which is especially advantageous for refrigerants that are at boiling point. Due to the inbuilt diffuser devices, the pumps are capable of handling gas content in the pumping medium.

Other notable features of the EDUR pumps include pulsation free operation, low noise emissions, icing protection and a closed lantern. The pumps come in a compact block construction or bedplate unit with customized modular design systems available.

All three models feature a 3-phase AC motor and are capable of transferring natural refrigerants such as ammonia and carbon dioxide as well as other synthetic and hydrocarbon refrigerants. Other series-specific features are described as follows:

  • The Series NMB pump is a compact, single-stage unit, designed for a maximum flow rate of 600 m3/h (2,462 U.S. gpm), a working pressure of up to 16 bar (232 psi), and a temperature range of -50° C to 140° C (-58° F to 284° F).
  • The Series LBM for higher pressure applications features a compact multi-stage unit designed for a maximum flow rate of 60 m3/h (264 U.S. gpm), a working pressure of 40 bar (580 psi) and a temperature range of -50° C to 220° C (-58° F to 428° F).
  • The series NHM for higher pressure applications that require a higher flow rate features a multi-stage unit on a bedplate, designed for a maximum flow rate of 170 m3/h (749 U.S. gpm), a working pressure of 40 bar (580 psi) and a temperature range of -50° C to 220° C (-58° F to 428° F).
