Tripp Lite, a global manufacturer of power protection and connectivity solutions, helps bring peace of mind to anyone who handles Ethernet cables frequently with the launch of Cat6a Ethernet patch cables. These additions to the Tripp Lite’s Safe-IT™ product group feature antibacterial properties to provide extra protection in medical facilities, schools, businesses, food service environments and other locations where bacteria are a concern.

The jacket, connectors and plugs on the new Cat6a Ethernet cables have antibacterial properties, making them Source: Tripp LiteSource: Tripp Lite99.9% effective in inhibiting Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Rated for 10 G networks, the antibacterial cables are available in three different constructions: UTP (unshielded twisted pair), slim UTP and S/FTP (shielded and foiled twisted pair). The slim cables are smaller in diameter than standard Cat6a cables to increase airflow and reduce cable clutter in crowded racks and patch panels. The S/FTP cables support Power over Ethernet (PoE) to power compatible devices.

The cables are available in lengths up to 25 ft and are designed to protect locking tabs from being snagged or damaged.
