Source: L-com Global ConnectivityA new series of premium, plenum-rated, Cat6a cable assemblies and bulk cable present an alternative to PVC jacketed cables. The fire-retardant cables are compliant with building codes for in-wall or in-ceiling installations.
L-com's new shielded, plenum, Cat6a Ethernet cables address CMP requirements with low burn rates and also self-extinguish in the absence of a flame. Their reduced flame propagation and smoke densities meet UL 910's safety test.
The CAT6a cables are designed for high-performance data transmissions over long runs. According to L-com, they feature RJ45 connectors, an F/UTP aluminized polyester shield with drain wire and 23 AWG solid conductors with terminal IDC connectors.
The EMI/RFI shield and grounding wire helps ensure full 10-gigabit Ethernet throughput, offering a solution for power over Ethernet, high-speed data centers, storage area networks and metropolitan area networks. L-com offers the cables in white, blue and green colors. They come packaged as cable assemblies from 1 to 100 ft long or as bulk cable in 1,000 ft lengths.
