Companies jointly design microfluidic driver
Engineering360 News Desk | October 22, 2020Sensor manufacturer Sensirion and micropump manufacturer TTP Ventus have created a compact, high-performance microfluidic driver that supports laboratory prototyping and product development for microfluidics use cases.
The firms have incorporated Sensirion’s SLF3x series liquid flow sensor with TTP Ventus’ Disc Pump Evaluation Kit to create a stand-alone system offering a closed-loop, constant flow rate source for high-precision applications.
The system operates on a “pressure-driven flow” or “air over liquid” philosophy, wherein gas pressure produced by the pump forces liquid flow through the microfluidic circuit.
The micropump’s pulsation-free pressure generation offers uninterrupted liquid flow without oscillation.
