Tsurumi introduces new heavy slurry pump
Engineering360 News Desk | September 10, 2020Pump manufacturer Tsurumi has introduced its new GPN 837 model, which can reportedly almost double the water output of a previous model — the GPN 622 — to 9,000 l/min, and the pump is designed for applications where significant amounts of solid matter are encountered.
The GPN 837 can be used in gravel pits where the pump might encounter sand, sludge, slurry and also Bentonite. The pump is of solid construction and at 150 l/s, hard rocks of up to 30 mm in size can easily pass through the pump. The agitator at the suction opening of the pump combines mud and water, thereby making it more fluid.

The GPN 837 is roughly 1 m high and is powered by an electric motor with 37 kW (400 V). The GPN 837 pumps vertically up to 24 m and when submerged, is pressure-resistant to depths of 30 m.
