The maker of a disinfectant that reportedly kills the coronavirus is teaming with a construction materials manufacturer to incorporate an antibacterial additive into construction materials.

Israel-based Tera Novel, the maker of the so-called “Germs Over” additive, and paint and construction materials manufacturer Tambour will jointly produce construction materials such as paint, plaster, cement, gypsum and adhesives that contain the additive.

According to developers, materials infused with the Germs Over technology will reportedly neutralize viruses, including the coronavirus, on contact.

Tera Novel and Tambour intend to target the additive-enhanced materials to customers such as nursing homes, hospitals, clinics and healthcare centers to treat walls and other high infection risk surfaces, destroying the virus upon contact.

The companies expect to register a global patent for Germs Over in a bid to make it commercially available all over the world.
