Pythagorean Laser Measuring Device Launched on Kickstarter
Engineering360 News Desk | August 03, 2018Para, a new Pythagorean laser measurer that utilizes two lasers and an angle encoder, has launched on Kickstarter. Para allows users to remain stationary while taking measurements. Para overcomes the limitations of the traditional tape measure and current endpoint lasers.

In laser mode, Para can measure the distance between two laser points. For stability and precision, it can be attached to a tripod and can measure tall buildings and surfaces that are out of reach. Para has a wheel mode that allows it to even measure curved spaces.
To use Para there is a three-step process: hold it in an angled position, point the two lasers and press the trigger button to see the measurements on the device’s screen. All data gathered using Para can be directly sent to and recorded on the linked smartphone application.
Para’s features include:
- Laser mode: Point the two lasers to measure the distance between them.
- Wheel mode: Roll Para on the surface to be measured.
- Smartphone application: Measurements recorded by connecting to the mobile app via Bluetooth.
- Accuracy: Calibration process allows for increased precision.
Or you can go out and purchase a DISTO™ today.
