Fans of the self-styled “King of Beers” will soon be able to quaff their barley brew with a clear environmental Source: Anheuser-Busch InBev Source: Anheuser-Busch InBev conscience.

Starting this spring, a new symbol will appear on the label of every Budweiser brewed in the U.S., the first country in which the beer will be brewed using 100 percent renewable energy. The electricity is sourced from Enel Green Power’s Thunder Ranch Wind Farm in Oklahoma. The label will then be introduced in additional markets that consume 100 percent renewable electricity in their Budweiser brewing operations. Budweiser is encouraging other brands to use the symbol on any product that is made using 100 percent renewables.

More than 40 million Budweisers are sold on average every day around the world, and switching to renewable electricity in brewing operations will correspond to taking 48,000 passenger cars off the road annually.

The company is committed to brewing all of its beers around the world with 100 percent renewable electricity by 2025.
