With as many as 30-million Americans experiencing alcohol-related problems, according to a recent study, the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism has developed a short online survey designed to help users identify whether or not they have a drinking problem.

The online survey helps users identify whether their drinking is problematic by asking a number of questions concerning behaviors and feelings about alcohol. Those answering yes to at least two of the drinking scenarios described in the survey are directed to a list of potential treatment options.

Although only roughly 10 percent of people with alcohol disorders get treatment, the institute hopes that the online survey will, through technology, make it easier for others seeking treatment.

The short survey is located here.
