Source: Evans Capacitor CompanyThe unique chemistry and construction of advanced hybrid capacitors provide for up to 10 times the volumetric energy density of aluminum electrolytic capacitors.
Evans Hybrid Electrolytic-Electrochemical Capacitors are available in welded tantalum or polypropylene cases. The welded tantalum cases are designed for a large temperature range from minus 55 degrees C to 125 degrees C, while the polypropylene cases are suitable for temperatures up to 70 degrees C.
Their low ESR and high power density make the capacitors suitable for high-current pulsed power applications like avionics, phased array radar and other critical applications where minimal voltage drops and increased energy density are required. Additional benefits include a lower footprint and weight reduction.
