Source: Wikimedia CommonsSource: Wikimedia CommonsThe traditional workplace has changed at an accelerated pace thanks to technology, and evidence of what the future holds is just beginning to reveal itself in the technologies available today. Here are just a few examples of the tools changing the face of the traditional workplace:

Machine Learning

Machine learning, which is now largely used to make predictions about financial outcomes and other data, will eventually lead to the safe and efficient operation of autonomous vehicles.

As more and more robots and autonomous systems take over tasks thought to be menial (such as moving warehouse inventory), experts believe that these jobs will eventually vanish from the workplace.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is already employed by major companies like IBM offering 24/7 customer service chatbots.

Mobile Cloud Computing

Currently, cloud computing assists with many workplace tasks (data storage, creating presentations, etc.) and ensures workplace productivity, engagement and flexibility.

Working Remotely

Officials from Fast Company predict that nearly half of the people working today will be working remotely by 2020 thanks to advances in technologies bringing people together using virtual tools.
