AMETEK's next generation Eternity Brush motors is designed to provide on average twice the life of traditional straight brush counterparts. The value to the user can be seen in less downtime, less maintenance and a better overall cost and value.

Longer brushes mean more life. Traditional brush length is limited by the effectiveness of the spring. AMETEK gets around this obstacle by creating curved brushes. The curved brush allows for an increased brush length by as much as 2/3. The result is 2-3 times more life compared to traditional straight brushes. In some lower amp motor applications, such as 8 amps or less, motors can run as long as 5,000-8,000 hours.

Applications that can take advantage of this technology range from:

  • car washes
  • pneumatic tubes
  • air plenum/air sampling
  • pet grooming
  • hand dryers
  • hood or welding exhausts

If the application requires 5,000-10,000 hours of use, then a brushless motor makes sense. The price differential between the two can be as much as $150-175, allowing the Eternity brush motor to be very cost effective.
