Enel Green Power North America has started construction of the Thunder Ranch wind farm in Oklahoma. When completed, the $435 million project will have a total installed capacity of 298 MW.

Construction cost is equal to almost $1,460 a kilowatt.

The wind facility is expected to enter into service by the end of 2017. It will be supported by long-term agreements for the sale of power and renewable energy credits.

Enel is one of the largest wind energy operators in Oklahoma, where it recently started construction at its 300 MW Red Dirt wind project. That project is expected to enter service at the end of 2017, and is being built for around $1,400 a kilowatt.
