The 385 megawatt, €1.2 billion ($1.35 billion) Arkona offshore wind farm has entered service in the Baltic Sea.
The wind farm consists of 60 six MW wind turbines from Siemens and ranks as one of the largest wind power plants in the Baltic. E.ON and Equinor will operate the project. The Arkona wind farm is 35 km northeast of the island of Rügen, Germany.
Meanwhile, in Texas, E.ON started work on the Cranell wind farm in Refugio County. The 220 MW project is expected to enter service in 2019. Cranell will be powered by 100 turbines from Vestas.
E.ON also recently announced the start of construction on another onshore wind farm in southern Texas, the 151 MW Peyton Creek project in Matagorda County, which is expected to enter service in 2019.
E.ON has a total capacity of more than 3,000 MW of wind power in Texas.
