ITG expands high voltage choke portfolio

Designed to provide an electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering option for higher-voltage electronic systems, ITG Electronics has rolled out a nanocrystal common mode choke.
The company said the C201371B family increases the voltage rating to 300 V AC that allows designers to address high-operating conditions, increase safety margins against transient surges and support compliance safety standards like UL/IEC 60938-2 and IEC 62368-1.
The chokes use nanocrystalline core material, which offers high permeability that enables required inductance with fewer winding turns, the company said. The chokes can provide lower direct current resistance (DCR) to help reduce power loss and improve system efficiency.
ITG said the choke series saves about 30% to 60% space and weight compared to ferrite-based common mode chokes, making it applicable for power electronics designs where thermal performance and board space are important.
The series spans inductance values from 0.4 mH to 11.0 mH, DCR values from 20.0 mOhm to 380.0 mOhm, and maximum current ratings from 0.9 amperes (A) to 4.5 A and are available in a through-hole configuration.
ITG said the devices are targeted for AC-to-DC converters that require compact common-mode noise suppression applications in sectors like:
