Tamper-Proof Tracking Device for Fleet Vehicles
By Vincent Zandri | April 05, 2016A wireless digital tracking system provides real-time information regarding fleet vehicle and tractor system diagnostics. It is also one of the first industry devices to be billed as tamper proof.
The anti-tamper protection feature is intended to prevent the disruption of real-time information and GPS positioning by delivering a disconnection notification alert directly to the fleet manager’s computer, smartphone, or tablet. At the same time, the tracking system provides a location of where the tampering took place along with a “bread crumb trail” of an operator’s precise activity.
Powered in part by a backup battery, the wireless tracking device is installed in a vehicle or tractor’s OBDII port. Aside from providing automatic location updates, it tracks the vehicle’s temperature, pressure, and check-engine lights, while also remotely updating information concerning safety notifications such as air bag deployments and operators who fail to use seatbelts.

According to device engineers, the Trackall OBDII provides information on how many hours the vehicles were driven on a daily basis, and also how many of those hours were spent idling. A side-by-side readout allows managers the ability to compare machine productivity with machine downtime.
The device keeps track of 11 system emission test components and forwards a notification should one of these systems fail to complete their required cycles.
