Video: Gas-condensing boiler is hydrogen-ready
S. Himmelstein | March 25, 2022A new gas condensing boiler system from indoor climate solutions provider Hoval offers the option of using hydrogen as an alternative fuel to natural gas to help curb carbon emissions. The biomethane-compatible UltraGas 2 boilers can easily be converted to hydrogen in the future.
The UltraGas 2 boilers can also be combined with any type of heat generator and solar energy system to create hybrid systems that deliver optimum efficiency with minimal emissions. With a maximum operating temperature of 95° C, they are ideal for use in ,.
The energy-efficient units incorporate Hoval TurboFer heat exchangers that use injection technology to generate turbulence and boost efficiency. High and low temperature return flow, a large water capacity and the Ultraclean combustion system combine to maximize system performance.
The gas condensing boilers are available with output ratings from 125 kW to 1,550 kW (250 kW to 3,100 kW as a double boiler), and in 10 bar versions for 720 kW, 1,100 kW and 1,550 kW units. Installation can be completed without the need for circulating pumps or hydraulic separators, and the amount of pipework in the heat exchangers has also been reduced to minimize weight in a compact design.
