Leading Dutch pump manufacturer Verder has recently redesigned its hygienic double diaphragm pump series, the Hi-Clean. Verder claims to have produced a superior quality pump that has been manufactured according to the most stringent hygienic standards for the food and pharmaceutical industries.

The Hi-Clean series is now available in both electrical and air driven models, making it suitable to a wider range of hygienic applications. One of the key modifications Verder has made is dramatically reducing the number of seals in the pump, thus greatly reducing the risk of contamination. Other notable features of the new series include self-priming capability, pumping solids of up to 97 mm, dry run start-up, easy plug-and-play operation and an externally serviceable air valve.

The electrical-driven series and the air-operated series comes in five and six models respectively, accompanied by a range of certifications including FDA and USP verification. The Hi-Clean can handle flows as high as 870 l/min (230 gpm) and is suitable for a wide range of low and high viscous substances. Another significant feature of the pump is a built-in automatic stalling capability when pumping against a closed valve, without the need for additional over-pressure equipment.

Options available in the series include a pump model specific to poultry applications, flapper valves for fluids containing large particles, integrated leak detection and a fully rotational stand for draining and quick cleaning. Additional accessories available with the series include a pulsation dampener as well as modular air controller (Air Control Pro), which can provide highly accurate pressure regulation for sensitive applications.

The revamped Hi-Clean double diaphragm pump series from Verder, showcases the flexibility and performance that many operators have come to expect from leading manufacturers. The Hi-Clean series is easy to use, safe and simple to maintain, and promises excellent performance for a range of applications and operating conditions.
