A new tool designed to accurately measure hydrogen gas flow can aid in producing, storing and dispensing the gas safely and effectively for mobile applications. The Micro Motion Coriolis HPC015 flow meter from Emerson can be deployed to contain costs in large-scale custody transfer operations, such as public transportation systems, where hydrogen is used to power hybrid bus engines.

Designed for high-pressure hydrogen dispensing and chemical injection applications, the flow meter is capable The flow meter is designed to meet the challenges of ultra-high-pressure environments. Source: Emersonof a flow accuracy margin of 0.5% for gas and 0.1% for liquid mass flow measurement. The time and cost investments for pre-inspections or interim maintenance are eliminated as the meter features onboard diagnostic tools.

Available in 482 bar, 963 bar and 1,060 bar pressure tiers, the meter can be deployed in other high-pressure applications such as injecting methanol, corrosion inhibitors and other chemicals downhole at high pressure. Chemicals are reliably dosed at pressures up to 1,060 bar to ensure pipeline integrity and avoid plugging and other events that can halt production.
