Overview: Maintenance-free linear actuators
August 07, 2020Overview: drylin® belt-driven, screw-driven and electric linear actuators
Converting rotary motion into grease-free linear motion is easier and more efficient with drylin linear actuators from igus®.
Each actuator is designed with our highly engineered self-lubricating plastic liners that slide instead of roll, which offer a significant cost and technical advantage over ball bearings. drylin actuators are also lightweight, dirt-resistant, quiet-running and maintenance-free.
Our lead screw driven actuators are ideal for low-cycle positioning applications and are well-suited for moving heavy loads up to 25,021 N (5,625 lbf). We offer various lead screw diameters and materials, as well as stepper motors, DC motors and hand wheel accessories.
Our belt-driven systems are ideal for speeds up to 2-3 m/s with lower loads. Other benefits include long stroke lengths and no frictional heat issues.
All of our linear actuators, slides and bearings are rigorously tested inside of our 41,000 ft2 test laboratory at our headquarters in Cologne, Germany. For help deciding between belt-driven and lead screw-driven actuators, read this tech talk for mechanical insights.
