The new KNF FP 150: A diaphragm pump with low pulsation

The five diaphragms of the FP 150 act with low shear force on the UV inks, preventing premature curing (for instance, excitation of the UV initiators) in the pump. In addition, the FP150 is optimally adapted to the new high-layout printheads on the market and their significantly higher recirculation rates.
To ensure compatibility with different ink types, the FP150 is available in different versions:
• An EPDM model for less aggressive UV- and water-based inks
• A model with a PTFE-coated diaphragm, mainly for solvent-based inks
• A model with an FFKM diaphragm and valves for oil/solvent-based inks and abrasive pigments used in ceramic and glass printing
A key feature of the new FP 150 is its low pulsation. Depending on the system configuration and running speed, values of less than 150 mbar are achieved at the pump outlet at nominal flow rate. These advantages make the pump the ideal solution for industrial inkjet printing. The pump also features infinitely variable adjustment of the flow rate and outstanding linearity between 10% and 100% of the nominal flow rate. The pump can also withstand a back pressure of up to 2 bar and can be used with most industrial inkjet inks and their different viscosities and is an ideal solution for the application of glazes, enamel and hot melt ink.
