Database documents US liquids pipeline projects
S. Himmelstein | December 30, 2019More than 200 crude oil, hydrocarbon gas liquids and petroleum product pipeline projects in the U.S. are now being tracked by a database launched by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The database includes information such as project type, start date, capacity, mileage and geographic information for pipeline projects completed since 2010 and future pipeline projects. EIA tracks expanded, reversed, converted and new pipeline projects. Database users should consider associated projects, such as pipelines constructed in segments or interconnected with other pipelines, to avoid overestimating or double-counting capacity when aggregating system capacity.
The liquid pipeline projects database complements EIA’s natural gas pipeline projects table and will be updated in May and November of each year.
