According to a Pew Research Center study, 74% of active users depend on Twitter for their news. Whether Twitter creator Jack Dorsey meant to or not, he created a major news source for many people. Interesting Engineering keeps its followers informed on all the latest developments in technology and engineering. This account doesn’t just focus on popular innovations like artificial intelligence or virtual reality. Interesting Engineering also posts videos of cool and silly new innovations, like a fog net that pulls water out of the air, or a foot scrubber that helps clean feet in the shower without users having to bend down. MIT Technology Review is a must follow for anyone who is interested in engineering or technology. This is a one-stop shop for the latest news and developments. If you are interested in the latest and greatest projects and news coming out of MIT, this is the Twitter account to follow.

3) NASA: @NASA

This is the official Twitter account of NASA, so it is naturally the account to follow for all space news. NASA tweets the latest news on all things space and Earth. The content ranges from live streams of rocket launches to updates from rovers currently in space.

4) Tomorrow’s Engineers: @Tomorrows_Eng

Tomorrow’s Engineers is all about helping young people break into STEM. Tomorrow’s Engineers’ Twitter feed is dedicated to spreading the word about kids who love STEM and schools that are integrating STEM into their curriculums along with STEM-related news.

5) National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration: @NOAA

This is the official Twitter account for Engineering.com and it covers a wide variety of engineering topics like aerospace and chemical engineering. Engineering.com aims to educate engineers on the latest and greatest in engineering and they often feature up-and-coming engineers and companies. This is a great catch-all Twitter feed for engineering professionals and amateurs.

7) CERN: @CERN

CERN is the European Organization for Nuclear Research and home to the world’s biggest physics lab. Manufacturers' News Inc. (MNI) is the oldest compiler and publisher of industrial directories, databases and statistics. This is the Twitter feed to follow to stay on top of the latest trends, events, company announcements, trend predictions and other data-based engineering news.
