Source: TrelleborgTiles designed to provide passive fire protection against blast, jet and pool fire in harsh environments received DNV-GL certification. The deck tiles also provide anti-fatigue dampening support, a corrosion barrier and can be tailored to withstand various chemical and mechanical conditions.
Trelleborg’s Vikodeck is manufactured from their next-generation Firestop material. The tiles are easy to install as well as lighter and thinner than any other passive fire protection materials on the market today.
The rubber based tiles obtained DNV-GL certification. They are impact resistant, withstand heavy loads and provide significant sound attenuation. They also exhibit good resistance against ozone, UV-light and process liquids.
The tiles can be applied to flooring, walls, roofing or any surface that requires passive protection. Although they were designed primarily for the oil and gas industry, Trelleborg’s tiles stand to improve personnel safety and protect equipment, critical components and structures across a diverse set of applications in both onshore and offshore environments.
