Source: China Xinhua News Source: China Xinhua NewsCompetition to create unique architectural designs, particularly for buildings in large cities overrun by them, is steep. As such, one building in southwest China now stands out from the rest with its own waterfall.

The Liebian Building located in the city of Guizhou features a 108 m tall waterfall flowing down the side of the 121 m tall building.

Despite a great deal of attention since the waterfall's debut, critics of the feature have emerged. According to reports, some are unimpressed by the amount of power necessary to operate the waterfall, which according to officials is considerable. In fact, to operate the four pumps that power the waterfall costs around $118 an hour.

Speaking to critics of the feature, the building's managers assure that the waterfall will only operate for special occasions and only for 10 to 20 minutes at a time.
