Porsche Mulls Plan to Develop Flying Passenger Vehicle
Marie Donlon | March 05, 2018As reported by German magazine Automobilwoche, Porsche will likely throw its hat into the flying car ring.
“That would really make sense. If I drive from [the Porsche plant in] Zuffenhausen to Stuttgart airport, I need at least half an hour, if I’m lucky. Flying would take only three and a half minutes.” Porsche company’s sales chief Detlev von Platen said.
While it is expected that operation of the flying cars will mostly be automated, reports are that Porsche will still allow passengers some control over the flying vehicles, even for those passengers without pilot licenses.
It is also being reported that the plan for flying cars won’t stop there as Porsche will likely join companies such as Uber in the air taxi market.
