Advanced Closed-cell Polyurethane Dielectric Material
Shawn Martin | December 07, 2017Source: General Plastics Manufacturing Co. A series of closed cell polyurethane foams serves as an advanced dielectric material for applications in radio frequency (RF) communication systems including radomes, antennas and electrical insulators.
LAST-A-FOAM® RF-2200 from General Plastics Manufacturing Co. provides an RF-transparent, low-loss protective layer for applications requiring optimal performance. Its glass transition temperature (Tg) of 350 degrees F makes it suitable for processing high-temperature composite prepregs.
The closed-cell polyurethane foam is available in several standard densities including three, four and six pounds per cubic foot. It does not absorb water, is dimensionally stable and exhibits exceptional compressive and electrical insulation properties.
