Safran Opens Research and Technology Center
January 30, 2015Safran has opened a research and technology center in Paris, France, to focus on electric aircraft, new aircraft propulsion architectures and information and communication technologies.
The center will be named Safran Tech and will employ around 300 scientists and engineers. It also will collaborate with industry partners, start-ups, government organizations and universities.
"Safran Tech reflects Safran's ongoing investments to ensure the future of our businesses, our industry, the knowledge economy in Europe, innovation and growth,” says Safran Chairman Jean-Paul Herteman.
Plans include establishing a laboratory in partnership with French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission to study sensors and their applications.
Plans also call for building a vehicle robotics laboratory with Peugeot-Citroën, Valeo, and the École des mines de Paris engineering school.
