Tracked Crawler Carrier Rotates 360-Degrees
Vincent Zandri | May 06, 2016A rubber track crawler carrier introduced by Terramac includes a rotational dumping body. The entire upper frame is attached to the bottom chassis and tracks by a mechanism that allows it to rotate 360 degrees. The machine is said to accommodate up to 28,000 lbs of material which it can dump at any position, even when the machine is moving.
The entire upper frame is attached to the bottom chassis and tracks by a mechanism.Weighing in at 40,000 pounds, the Terramac RT14R ris designed to work more efficiently than traditional stationary tracked carriers in tight and/or difficult to access construction sites. Powered by 320-hp Cummins QSL9.0 Tier 4 Final diesel engine, the dumper houses a 7.9-psi ground pressure when fully loaded.
According to the manufacturer’s specs, the tracks do not require counter rotation when the operator switches direction. The cab comes equipped with a Parker Touch Screen IQAN-MD4 control system allowing for digitally enhanced diagnostic and controller area network gateway capability.
The cab also features a wide access door and the window size is larger than that of older model tracked carriers . A joystick provides overall multi-functional control including dumping and rotation.
