A rubber track crawler carrier recently introduced by Terramac offers a rotational dumping body. The upper frame is attached to the bottom chassis and tracks by a mechanism that allows it to rotate 360 degrees. The machine is said to accommodate up to 28,000 lbs of material which it can dump at virtually any position, even when the machine is moving.

Image source: TerramacWeighing 40,000 pounds, the Terramac RT14R rubber track crawler is designed to work more efficiently than traditional stationary tracked carriers in tight and/or difficult to access construction sites. Powered by 320-hp Cummins QSL9.0 Tier 4 Final diesel engine, the dumper houses a 7.9-psi ground pressure when fully loaded.

According to the manufacturer’s specs, the tracks do not require counter rotation when the operator switches direction. The interior cab is equipped with a Parker Touch Screen IQAN-MD4 control system allowing for digitally enhanced diagnostic and controller area network gateway capability.

The cab also includes an extra wide access door for easy entry/exit. The window size is larger than that of older model tracked carriers for increased visibility and overall safety. A joystick provides multi-functional control including dumping and rotation.
