Four free, on-demand courses are available with the initial LMS launch:

  • Fiber-Optic Theory 101 (Beginner level): Equips the student with the essential knowledge of fiber-optic technology, including its fundamental principles, safety practices and measurement techniques.
  • Precision Cable Prep and Validation (Beginner level): Covers the foundations of coaxial and Ethernet cable installation. Students will learn to identify cable types, understand wire mapping and study termination techniques using proper tools and equipment — equipping them with the skills to create reliable cable connections for optimal network performance.
  • TDR Basics (Beginner level): Learn how a time domain reflectometer (TDR) helps find cable faults and improve network performance. The course covers how a TDR works, reading traces and locating issues. By the end, students can confidently use a TDR for troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • OTDR Theory (Beginner/Intermediate level): Covers how an optical TDR (OTDR) works, its key features and the standards for accurate measurements. Students will also get practical tips on setting up the tool and reading the results. The course is appropriate whether the student is new to OTDRs or wants to improve skills in fiber-optic testing.

Future additions will include content on power-over-Ethernet (PoE), irrigation systems and buried infrastructure location. All courses are designed to meet the real-world needs of technicians, imbuing them with the knowledge to tackle any challenge with confidence.
